here we go: fairie’s first blog-post. thank you for visiting!
beyond providing personal fulfillment to the individuals on the other side of the screen, the goal of fairie is to share information and opportunities, empower women, and lift each other up along the way. as we like to say, fairie is ‘here for her’ while we work for a fair Ireland.
this project has spent years in our dreams and months in the marking. today, we are delighted to celebrate the launch of our humble website and the beginning of this new adventure. we believe the timing of our launch is impeccable, as it coincides with the lead up to the Christmas season. according to PwC Ireland, Irish consumers spend ~€5Bn online, annually. of that €5Bn, approximately €3Bn goes to retailers based outside of Ireland. there are so many incredible local craftspeople and talented creators and designers on this island that we ought to support them and the local economy. for this season of giving, we encourage you to shop local for the holidays. have a look at our list of Irish stores and designers in the “shop, style” tab of our “recommendations” Google sheet (below). additionally, Kilkenny Shop & Restaurant is doing a fabulous job of sharing the importance of shopping local while promoting gorgeous Irish gifts and products. let’s join the cause this holiday season and make this Friday, 28 November, #GreenFriday, a day when you shop locally and support small, independently owned businesses.
